Catch a rare glimpse into Straightjacket, a blues rock band that has been playing in the local circuit for more than 20 years. The band thrives in interpreting classic standards from Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Cream and The Who in their own styles allowing each musician to express himself freely.

The band did an 8 month Sunday residency at the Hard Rock Café in 1996. It was also a regular at the Crazy Elephant in the early years of the club and has done almost 400 gigs together.

Lead Singer, Reynold Pereira is now based in Barcelona playing with his own band, XRey and Voodoo Road, hence their gigs are now reduced to one or two yearly.

The other members of this illustrious band include hot shot guitarist, Clinton Carnegie who is no stranger to the Barber Shop, setting the stage alight regularly with Good Question. Clinton has also released two solo albums.

Also on lead and rhythm guitar is SK Robert who now leads Singapore rock and psychedelic legends, Heritage and also plays regularly with the Blutones.

Keeping the groove on bass is Stewart De Souza, whose experience and fluidity allows him to session with many groups including Gruv Therapy.

Finally, on drums is Gary Tan, a much sought-after drummer whose chops always raises the band to a higher level. Gary has graced music festivals in Australia and Spain with UBlues Band and Raw Earth.

So, do not miss this rare opportunity to catch these five wonderfully talented musicians playing two sets at the Barber Shop on 28 December from 8.45pm to 11.15pm.

The second set will also include a jam session with very talented musical guests and friends of the band.
