GlowUps is a dynamic three-piece band that brings together a blend of seasoned experience, youthful energy, and musical versatility. Each member contributes their unique talents and extensive backgrounds to create a captivating and diverse musical experience.
Jordon: The Heartbeat of the Band
Jordon, the youngest member of GlowUps, is a drummer and singer whose passion for music began in his teenage years. His journey has taken him to popular venues such as Beer Market, Hood Bar and Cafe, and Timbre, where he has honed his skills and developed a keen sense for delivering the right beat at the right moment. Jordon’s influences include iconic bands and musicians like Eagles, Bon Jovi, Beyond, Thomas Lang, Steve Gadd, and Mike Webber. His deep experience and rhythmic precision make him an invaluable member of the band.
Howie: The Seasoned Performer
Better known as David Yeo during his stint in the first season of Singapore Idol, Howie is a versatile performer who has made his mark in both the English music scene and the Cantopop/Mandopop scene. He has played at renowned venues such as Wala-Wala, Paulaner Brauhaus, Hood Bar & Cafe, Muddy Murphy’s, Beer Market, J Bar, Level Up, Dragonfly, Firefly, and Shanghai Dolly. His bilingual performances at Wheeler’s Estate, BarBarQ, Obar LiveHouse, and 8 Degree Lounge have further showcased his adaptability.
Howie won the Guinness Live! 2012 singing competition, which led to a memorable performance with his favorite Chinese band, Power Station, at Dragonfly. Despite his tough exterior and tattoos, Howie’s musical roots lie in ballads and boybands, allowing him to seamlessly transition between high-energy rock and emotional ballads. Additionally, his Grade 8 Certificate (with Merit) for Rock & Pop Guitar from Trinity College London means you might also catch him shredding on lead guitar.
Chen Yi: The Versatile Powerhouse
Chen Yi, also known as Huimin, began her musical journey at the age of six with piano and singing lessons. Over the years, she has established herself as a professional musician and choir director with more than a decade of experience. Her classical foundation shines through in her music, showcasing both technical prowess and versatility. Known as the “Mando Soul Singer,” Chen Yi captivates audiences with her wide vocal range and powerful belting voice. Chen Yi has provided backing vocals for international artists and has been featured in local festivals such as the Mosaic Festival and Hua Yi Festival, as well as Channel 8 TV drama series theme songs. She won first place in the national singing competition organized by Singapore Press Holdings in 2018. In 2021, she released her single “月色,” which reached the top 20 of new releases on Spotify.

Combining Jordon’s rhythmic expertise, Howie’s versatile performances, and Chen Yi’s powerful vocals, GlowUps offers a rich and engaging musical experience that resonates with a wide audience.
